L4ND launches motion to Labour Conference 2026
Labour for a New Democracy has launched its motion to Labour Party Conference 2026, calling for the Government to establish a National Commission on Electoral Reform.
It is the first time since 2022 that L4ND has asked Labour members and CLPs to submit a motion on electoral reform to Conference.
The motion comes at a moment of growing support for reform across the Labour movement and the Parliamentary Labour Party, alongside the Prime Minister’s backing for proportional representation and a National Commission.
It calls for the Government to establish the Commission within the first 100 days of the new premiership, creating an independent and evidence-led process to examine the future of the voting system used for Westminster elections.
L4ND is encouraging members to submit the motion through their branch or CLP and help demonstrate the strength of support for electoral reform across the Labour movement.
