2021 and what’s next for #Labour4PR

Over the last twelve months, the Labour Party has had its biggest and most serious conversation about British democracy for a generation:

  • 325 CLPs, a majority, have voted to support electoral reform - an increase of over 200 since 2020.

  • 80% of Conference delegates voted to back our motion calling for a manifesto commitment to Proportional Representation. We are no longer trying to persuade the membership, we are the membership.

  • Unite, Labour's largest affiliate has joined the overwhelming majority of Labour Party members - as well as trade unions like ASLEF, TSSA and MU - in supporting electoral reform.
