Unprecedented coverage
This has been an amazing few days of campaign coverage ahead of the Report Stage of the Representation of the People Bill - where the record-breaking National Commission amendment will be heard.
Labour’s Mike Reader MP had a great interview on BBC Radio 4's Today Programme.

We made the frontpage of the Guardian, leading with Jess Elgot’s story which quoted six supportive Labour MPs. A second piece by Peter Walker provided further background.

Both Neal Lawson and Polly Toynbee have articles in the Guardian making the case for a National Commission - and to round it off the Guardian Editorial team themselves penned a supportive piece.

This was followed this morning by LabourList’s reveal that a majority of all MPs - and a larger majority of Labour MPs - now back a review of the voting system. It was accompanied by a morning email by LabourList's James Tibbitts backing a National Commission.
Next, Former Labour leader Neil Kinnock backed the proposal in The Observer, arguing that First Past the Post is no longer fit for Britain’s increasingly multi-party politics.

Kinnock described advancing democracy as “a Labour cause” and called for a National Commission as the practical next step towards reform, writing: “A national commission on electoral reform now would put that enlightened purpose into practice.”
Finally, Labour MP Rachel Blake also made the case for action in The House, arguing that Britain’s increasingly multi-party politics means electoral reform is becoming unavoidable.

Blake is among the Labour MPs backing Alex Sobel’s call for a National Commission. She argued that an independent process could examine the options for proportional representation while considering how best to retain constituency representation and public accountability.
She called for the Commission to be established within the Prime Minister’s first 100 days.
