An open goal for Burnham

Last summer 164 MPs signed Meg Hiller's reasoned amendment to the Government's welfare reform Bill - making it the most signed amendment in this parliament.

No longer.

Today over 166 MPs have signed Alex Sobel MP's amendment to the Representation of the People Bill calling for a National Commission on Electoral Reform.

Labour MPs, who make up a majority of the signatories, are describing the amendment as an "open goal" to in coming Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, who has long supported both Proportional Representation and establishing a National Commission on Electoral Reform.

You can read all about it on Politics.co.uk, in the Evening Standard and in outlets all over the country.
